Saw Sweet Land this week on DVD.  It was goddawful.

Been kibitzing the Spingold on BBO.  A lot of commentators are raising a stink about how slow the play is.  I think that's ridiculous.  As long as both sides are slow, they can take all night as far as I'm concerned.  In bridge, like in life, victimless crimes aren't really crimes at all and shouldn't be punished.

Big stink this week between Obama and Hillary about whether or not the next President should agree to meet with the 'evil-doers' like Chavez, Castro, Kim Jong Il and Ahmadinejad.  Much ado about (almost) nothing since they've both concluded that you've got to negotiate with your 'enemies' and that meeting these guys would be something to at least consider.  I'm hoping that Hillary and Obama start bashing each other and give some room to Edwards to get some traction.  He's by FAR the best candidate on the Dems side and for the life of me I can't figure out why he isn't walking away with this thing.

More lying under oath from Attorney General Gonzo.  He's going to be convicted of perjury at the end of the day.  It's too bad there wasn't a way to find out with certainty who voted for these clowns.  It would only be fair to make Bush/Cheney voters pay an extra 10% surtax every year for the next 20 years or so to partially mitigate the damage they've done to this country.  If Bush were a Democrat, he'd have probably been impeached in his first term and definitely have been impeached by now.

Turns out Pat Tillman was probably murdered by a wingnut who didn't like his political views.  You see, Tillman knew that the war in Iraq was illegal and immoral and wasn't shy about sharing his views.  He was a true patriot.  Just another disgraceful episode (the cover-up of the cause of Tillman's death by Bush for partisan political purposes) engineered by our despotic commander in chief.

Only a couple weeks until Boston.  Looking forward to it.  ttfn
