GIB hates me

Another human-free day on BBO so I decided to give the robots another chance.

Bad decision.

-3570 after 10 boards was not the result I was hoping for.  The first board was my fault (I butchered a cold 2 Spades playing too fast trying to get to the next (hopefully high-scoring) board.  The rest was GIBberish.  Here's my 190 point (-50 instead of +140) contribution to our -3570.

All white in 3rd

I opened 1 Spade, LHO Doubled, Pard bid 2 Spades, and I reluctantly passed.

LHO led the Ace, King and a third Heart (the 6.)  RHO followed up the line (if it matters ... Does GIB signal?)

K73 / J752 / T94 / KJ2

AJ942 / Q9 / A76 / Q54

I said to myself 'I'll duck this in case it gets ruffed, ruff it and play Ace of Spades, Spade to the King and then take my pitch.'

Then after I'd ducked the Heart and won the trick I said 'Wait a minute.  If Spades are 4-1, I'm going to go down here.  I can't take my pitch on the Heart without drawing trumps and if I draw trumps I'll get tapped out.  I've got to let the opponents in twice : Once with the Queen of Spades and once with the Ace of Clubs.  They'll knock out my Diamond stopper the first time they're in and tap me out when they get in the 2nd time.'

I changed horses and led a low Spade up and a low Spade back.  When RHO followed to the 2nd Spade with the Ten, I smiled inwardly and said to myself 'I'm glad I didn't just bang down the AK of Spades.'

I played the Jack and of course, LHO won the Queen.  GIB falsecarded me! (playing the 5 then the 10 from an original trump holding of T85.)

Now, of course, Lefty played the 4th round of Hearts, East ruffing my good Jack, and I was done (actually, a Diamond works too at this point since I have no fast entry to get to my good Heart.)

Going back to my original plan, I should have realized that 4-1 Spades are more likely than 5-2 Hearts on this auction and so won the 3rd Heart in dummy, pitching a Diamond.  When the Jack of Hearts holds, I'm cold since I can play the King of Spades and hook the Spade in safety (if it loses, I don't have to worry about getting tapped out since trumps are 3-2 and if it wins and LHO shows out, I can take the Ace and switch to Clubs and still score 4 Spades, 1 Heart, 1 Diamond and 2 Clubs.)

I tried to sign up for a rematch and was disallowed from competing (Fred wants you to play for money, not for fun.)  Redemption will have to wait.
