I noticed on Stacy's blog that John Kranyak finished in the money in one of the World Series of Poker events and I've started following all the action at that website and a few others (like Phil Hellmuth's blog.)  A lot of bridge players have joined the poker craze and it's nice to see Kranyak do well.  I played quite a bit of no limit hold 'em back when it really started to catch on back in 2002 but I think I'll stick to watching the WPT on TV.

George Bush strikes again.  He has his minions reveal the identity of a covert CIA agent in order to punish her husband for exposing his lies in the propaganda buildup to the illegitimate and illegal invasion of Iraq. He lets them know that if they're prosecuted, he'll see to it that they never spend a day in jail.  He commutes the sentence of one of his own staffers when he has a long track record of extreme stinginess when it comes to clemency (as governor of Texas, he mocked a woman on death row who had asked him for mercy.)  He does it in direct violation of Justice Department policy.  Could we please impeach him already?  He's got a date at the Hague; I don't want him to miss it.  Why anybody thought an alcoholic, coke-snorting, drunk-driving, draft-dodging cheerleader and failed businessman would make a remotely acceptable president is still beyond me.

More rain today.  I'd better get back to work on the Ark.  See you next Friday.
