Played 39 boards with Jeff today, the last 12 in a team match that Owen Lien hosted.  My declarer play did not shine on this board:

I picked up as dealer, all red:

KQ984 / KT62 / JT8 / 5

I passed, 1 Club-Pass-1 Heart, I'm in for a Spade, support double on my Left, Pass, 2 Hearts from Righty, passed around to Jeff who buys the contract for 2 Spades.  Lefty led the King of Clubs.

Not the dummy I expected (lying in the weeds works sometimes.)  I might actually make this.

A72 / 74 / 9642 / A862

KQ984 / KT62 / JT8 / 5

Seems normal to win the Ace (I hope) and play a Heart, Righty plays low, now what?

I never know what to do on these hands where the length is in one hand and the strength is in the other hand.  You need to guess the Ace of Hearts to make the hand.  The winning play is the Ten, as Righty held QJxx and didn't split (double-dummy I had no play if he splits, so that's somewhat comforting.)

I played the King, lost to the Ace, got a trump back, another Heart, another trump, and I ended up scoring 6 Spades and a Club, down 1 for a push.

Lefty

J65 / A95 / K7 / KQJ73

Righty

T3 / QJ83 / AQ53 / T94

Jeff and I had a pretty flat card (probably lose 5) and the boys had a rough set and we lost the match by 28.
