We have the technology

I got a reminder this past week of why I don't like overly complex bidding systems. And I wasn't even playing bridge.
I was paying bills on Wednesday, dropped the power bill w/ check in the mail, transferred money with a few clicks of the mouse from my online (interest-bearing) account to my bricks/mortar account, and forgot about it.
This morning, I was checking my financial info and it turns out that the check I wrote and dropped in the mail had been delivered, cashed, and cleared before the high-tech transfer initiated the same day had been processed. Thank God for technology.
No doubt if you have unlimited mental energy or have world championship aspirations, complexity is the way to go. My old buddy Glen Ashton spends lots of time creating the 'perfect' system, that only includes highly useful, winning, high-frequency gadgets. And at a mere 259 pages, it's something that you can master in only a year or two.
But for now, I'll be licking the stamp, putting it on the envelope, and mailing it in.
