Never mind, Tattoo, we missed the slam.  Whose fault and by how much?

First, the Auction:

3 Clubs - 3NT - P - 5S - Swish

Here's what the 3NT bidder held:

A54 / K94 / AKJ7 / K54

Here's what the 5 Spade bidder held:

KQJT86 / AQ5 / 865 / 6

Both experienced players, unfortunately had no agreements over 3X-3N

You want MORE?  You can't HANDLE more!  Actually, we're all out of more right now, sorry.

Agreements there are easy enough to come by. Shannon and I play system on there (over 3NT, 4C is stayman, 4D/H transfer), so I'd bid 4H.

Probably going to play it there when the NT bidder has only a little extra and the hand with spades holds 3 small diamonds. Who can bid on? I might consider asking for aces directly over 4H, since I have a max and 3 trump, but it's not very likely.

Over 1NT, we play that a Jacoby transfer followed by 4M is a mild slam try, and that would have been my plan on this hand -- 1N - 2H - 2S - 4S. I don't have more that that.

      Over the 2NT rebid, it could get interesting: 1D - 1S - 2NT - 3C - 3S - .... now a 4C cuebid gets you 4D from partner and you'd probably find it that way.

Is it a good slam, though?

        It's a GREAT slam, no?

Over 1m-1M-2N, we play Wolff signoffs, so our auction would be different than yours.

I agree that the long spade hand is only worth a mild slam try opposite a 15-17 NT opener.
